Dolna
Kremena village is situated some 4,5km north from the town of Mezdra,
where during the Roman Age had existed a considerable settlement. The
ruins of the villa are located in the Robin Dol area situated
in the south-most foods of Vesletza Mountain.
According to the lay out the villa is almost square, a little prolonged from northwest to southeast. According to the lay out the villa has a uniform architectural design, but the differences in the construction and link indicate that the separate wings are constructed consecutively. The three wings of the villa had had different functions. The north-west wing is the living quarters, it is separated from the inner court yard by a corridor, The north-east wing is the official, it is separated from the inner court yard by colonnade, The third wing is a farm building used for processing of cereals.
During the archaeological excavations, sculptures, architectural elements, pottery and coins were found. These materials are related to the end of 2nd till the middle of 3rd centuries. |
